Bulgarian state budget to fund School sports developments.
The Bulgarian government has on Wednesday approved changes
in the Law on Physical Education and Sports, whereby the construction
and renovation of sports facilities will be financed by the
state budget and the Bulgarian Sports Lotto.
Restoration of sports schools throughout the country will
begin from the next school year (October 2010) with about
BGN 10 M to be provided by the two funding sources, said Svilen
Neykov, the Minister of Sport.
The intention is for all municipal sports schools to become
state-controlled and to be directly subordinate to the Bulgarian
sports ministry.
There are already nine state sports schools in Bulgaria that
are controlled by the sports ministry, Minister Neykov added.
Tomb of Bulgarian princess found.
A team of archaeologists has discovered the tomb of a Bulgarian
princess in the northern Bulgarian town of Veliko Turnovo,
Bulgaria's medieval capital.
State Jobless falls.
Michigan's jobless rate in November fell to 14.7, from 15.1
in October. The Michigan Department of Energy, Labor &
Economic Growth said total employment increased by 16,000
in November while unemployment fell by 20,000. The state's
labor force edged down by 4,000 over the month.
Romania allows Moldovan citizens access
Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat advises that up to 1.2
million Moldovans, more than one-quarter of the population,
will be able to travel easily to EU-member Romania due to
an agreement he signed in Bucharest last week, RFE/RL's Moldovan
Service reports.
